Hello
How to "Talk Turkey"

You’re going to eat some turkey this week. And
you’ll also probably talk turkey this
week. You’ve heard, or used, the
phrase, “talk turkey” before, haven’t you? But
do you know what it means and what its
origin is? I’ll reveal that in a moment…
Two weeks ago, I told you that if you
change your beliefs, you can change what
you perceive.
Does that mean if you believed there wasn’t
a wall in your bedroom, you could walk
right through it? According to quantum
physics, yes. But let’s not get carried
away because if that type of change were so
simple we’d all be walking through walls.
Though in a literal sense you are
already “walking through walls” because you
are creating empty space (without a wall in
it) simply through your perceptions. Look
to the empty space on your left. There is
no wall there, correct? You know this is
true and believe it to the core of your
existence. Therefore, you are able to walk
right through the space.
Since your subconscious is powerfully
influences by the messages you encounter
regularly, you can and should take care
regarding what messages you’re exposed to. Make
sure you are being influenced by
inspiring, uplifting, enlightening, and
motivating people, books, music, movies,
and etc. - full of healthy humor.
Here are some keys for believing it before
you see it:
1. Intentionally create the world you wish
to see inside your mind. Visualize people
the way you’d prefer them to behave. Take
care to think the best of all people and
situations until they definitively prove
otherwise.
2. Surround yourself with positive things. Read
uplifting books and listen to stirring
music. Quit watching negative television
or movies that reinforce old beliefs you’ve
outgrown. Go to my website, for suggestions.
3. Act courageously. It takes courage to
act as if you believe something before you
really do. But acting as if you believe
the things you want to see, helps create
the genuine belief systems necessary for
you to exert more influence over your
world. It is not an overnight process, but
you will start to see changes as your
beliefs really start to change.
Don’t be surprised when the beliefs you are
now consciously choosing and nurturing,
manifest themselves right before your
eyes. The energy and excitement you’ll
feel as you conjure this “magic,” will rev
up your humor nature to turbo speed. And
your humor nature, in turn, will help you
continue crafting new and positive beliefs.
By the way, the derivation of the
phrase “talk turkey” is traced back to
colonial times. A colonist and his Native
American companion went hunting. When they
split up the day’s take, the colonist kept
saying, “This turkey is for me. You get
this crow.” The Native American reportedly
objected, saying, “You always talk turkey
for you. You never talk turkey for me.”
So the phrase “talk turkey” entered our
lexicon, meaning, “getting your fair
share.” This year make sure you talk
turkey when the turkey plate is being
passed around the table!
