Hello
How to Change Anything as Easily
as Changing Your Hairstyle
By Cliff Kuhn, M.D.

Change is a tough thing right? Even
changing your hairstyle is a major
decision - let alone changing something big
like taking yourself less seriously. Today's
issue of The Fun Times offers two
tips that have been my biggest allies
regarding change lately.
Some changes are supposed to be easy. Getting
a new job. Making a new friend. Or
getting a new outfit.
While some changes are supposed to be
tough. Ever tried to lose weight? Keep a
regular exercise program? Or stop
gossiping?
The two tips in today's message work
equally well with easy and with tough
changes. Why? Here's a secret you need to
know...
Changing yourself is done the same way
regardless of whether you think the change
will be easy or difficult!
Here's your first million-dollar tip for
changing yourself: replace the word "can't"
with the word "won't". Not only is the
word "won't" a more honest assessment of
your ability and willingness to change, but
you'll find that the word will usually jar
you out of any complacency you find
yourself in.
After all, while saying, "I can't lose
weight" gives us an easy out, who wants to
go around saying, "I won't lose weight."?
Here's tip number two: listen. Start
simply - on your way to work this week
don't listen to the radio, think about the
day ahead, or replay the argument you had
with your spouse the night before (and
think of all the things you wish you
said). Instead, let your thoughts die a
natural death and just listen.
Listen to what, you ask? To
the "nothingness" that you're in the habit
of ignoring. You'll find that listening
grounds you in some unexpected ways and
gives you access to some wisdom you've been
missing out on.
Yes. Changing anything is simple. You
just do it. And you do it one day at a
time (sometimes one moment at a time). These
two tips will help you stay the course.
Please let me know how they work for
you.

I always wanted to be somebody, but I guess
I should've been more specific.
For every action, there is an equal and
opposite criticism.
Age doesn't always bring wisdom. Sometimes
age comes alone.
