How to Life Free with More Laughter
and Happiness

"It all starts with a SMILE"

Two weeks ago I wrote about letting go of
your expectations. And if you've given that
a try, I'll bet your holidays have gotten
off to a nice start.

I'll bet you are finding less
disappointment, resentment, and are worrying
less when you do things for other people. And
for yourself.

Expecting someone to respond in a certain
way, or expecting a positive outcome, sure
does set you up in a bad way. Because
others have limits to their energy,
willingness, and even their awareness. That
means that others will always be limited in
their ability to think about your needs -
especially if you're needing a certain
reaction or outcome.

But there is also a so-called flip side to
consider regarding letting go of your
expectations. A flip side just as important
to your peace of mind and humor nature. A
flipside just as devastating when you ignore
it.

The flip side to letting go of your
expectations for positive results? Let go
of your negative expectations too.

Sounds simple, right? It is simple. Just
like letting go of your expectations for
positive results, it is simple...just not
easy!

Do you ever find yourself thinking "This
effort will amount to nothing...", "She
won't appreciate this effort...", or "This
is going to fail..."? Or something similar?

Me too.

I'm just as guilty of creating negative
expectations for my actions. Have you ever
heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy? Negative
expectations, you see, have a very
nasty habit of coming true.

Just as positive expectations set you up for
disappointment, negative expectations set
you up to not succeed. Why would you invite
something into your life that is going to
limit your success and fun? You wouldn't be
reading if your humor nature wasn't
important to you - so stop inviting
negativity with your negative expectations!

For the rest of the holidays I invite (and
challenge) you to let go of all your
expectations. Positive and negative. Just
live in this moment. Just enjoy this moment!

I'll join you. And we'll see, together, how
free you fell to live, laugh, and love. We'll
see how free your humor nature can be
today...and each day after!

How to Infuse Yourself with Energy, Health,
and Success - by Focusing on Fun

By Cliff Kuhn, M.D.

It's easy, and dangerous, to forget the
distinction between fun and funny; when we
focus on trying to make people laugh we can
quickly get discouraged because we end up
putting a lot of pressure on ourselves. This
is a mistake because, as explained in this
article, you short circuit the amazing
natural medicine of humor when you do it.

Some Humor to Help You Smile

"Scientists believe that monkeys can be
taught to think, lie, and even play politics
within their community. If we can just
teach them to cheat on their wives we can
save millions on congressional salaries."
