How to Have Your Most Rewarding Year

By Cliff Kuhn, M.D.

"It all starts with a SMILE"

There is one resolution you can make that will make the coming
year your most rewarding one ever.

Feel good as much as you can.

Before you pooh-pooh this message, before you dismiss it as too
simplistic or cloying, stop and consider something. Stop and
think about the typical make-up of your internal dialogue. You
know - the internal conversation you and I (and every other human
being) carries on continually.

Is your internal dialogue filled with positive, nurturing, and
uplifting messages? Such as "I know everything happens just
like it's supposed to" or "I am so grateful for..." Or is your
internal dialogue filled with negative, shaming, and defeating
messages? Such as "This shouldn't be happening" or "I want/need
(fill in the blank) and I don't have it; why don't I have what I
want?"

Only you can answer that question. And if you're like most
people, you will find your internal dialogue has a lot more
negative to it. A lot more negative to it than you'd like to
admit - especially to yourself.

Can you be more in control of your internal dialogue? Can you
choose to make it more positive and uplifting? YOU BET!

Can humor help you in making your internal dialogue more
positive and uplifting? Of course! In fact, the gentle humor
you've learned to embody in "It all Starts with a SMILE" is your
BEST resource to do just that.

Keep in mind, as this new year begins, that your internal
dialogue is just a series of stories you're telling yourself. There
are no rules about the stories you tell yourself; you are
just as free to tell negative stories as you are positive
stories. So why not choose more positive stories?

Taking yourself more lightly, while taking your responsibilities
more seriously is the cornerstone of "It all Starts with a
SMILE" and will help you tell better stories. And, after all,
what bigger and more important responsibility do you have than
your own state of being? Resolve to follow my advice this year
and feel good as much as possible!

You may soon find that you are already loving the results!
