My story relates to my grandmother's passing. We had her memorial several weeks ago at the care facility's chapel. My mother was stressed because she was in charge therefore it trickled down as duties were assigned.
I had to sit up front to start the background music for "Amazing Grace". Of course, the first funny was dad downloaded Amazing Grace with a ragtime piano beat and speed. Yet, we had to sing the same speed as the majority of older friends or family were singing. We got thru 2 versus with unequally timed music and acapella the 3rd.
The second funny was my 3 yr old nephew crawling under the chairs because he was bored. Then of course he added a unanimous laugh to the slide show when he told his mother "that's you!".
The third and last moment of silly was during out benediction prayer for grandma. When we were praying and I felt seriously into it I hear a pitch tuner then a Barbershop Quartet start singin Happy Birthday. I try hard to not laugh and to not look as tho such a mourning to be funny. I couldnt hold it especially after looking at my mother, dad, sis, and my son's faces. Just when I thought I was over my craziness we all heard it again, and if that was not enough they sang it a 3rd time during our prayer. By the third time I busted out loudly laughing, crying, and I had to even laugh harder since my family was trying to control themselves and be better behaved than I.
All of this comes down to Grandma in peace and helping us laugh at her Joy!
